FW: IDHS Newsletter - February 2022

It was lovely to see more people at our meeting and a big welcome to some new members. We were entertained by Andrew Harris who came again to talk about trees – tips, equipment and knots. A big thank you to those who performed as trees!

Congratulations to the winners of the 2020/1 members competition who were awarded cups at the meeting

3rd Place: Wendy Ash

2nd place: Val Thurston

1st place: Di Barnaby

Our next meeting is on Thursday 24th February at 7.30pm

Mike Read  who is an acclaimed local photographer will be coming to provide an insight into the Wildlife of a Working Forest.

We will again try doing refreshments part way through the talk which gives members a chance to chat, pay their annual membership, get raffle tickets and look at the wonderful exhibits in the members competition. Don’t forget your entries as we have started again for 2022.

In line with the new Covid guidance which came into effect on January 27th, masks no longer have to be worn although please feel free to do so, should you wish.

A big thanks to Kate Saxton and Sue Hopkins for volunteering to do the refreshments this month

Things to Plan For:

  • If you have spare unopened or partly used seed packets which you don’t plan to use, save them and bring them along to the Seed Swap at the meeting on 31st March
  • Dont forget to save any plants for splitting or think about sowing additional seeds ready for the Plant Sale on the 7th May

Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday
