FW: IDHS January 2022 newletter

Although a little belated, Happy New Year to you all and hopefully 2022 will see the club blossoming again.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 27th January,7.30pm in Ibsley Village Hall. Our speaker this month is a popular return speaker delayed by Covid – Andrew Harris from Tree-menders who will be keeping us entertained with various facts to do with trees and some “knott” problems.

As usual we will be holding a raffle, the members competition and the usual refreshments.

We will also be handing out the cups to the top three winners of our 2020/21 members competition.

Membership fees are now due and you can pay and collect your card at the meeting or should you prefer, we are offering alternatives. The cost this year is £10 per person and can be paid by cheque (payable to IDHS) and sent to Mr Alan Milburn at

65, Parsonage Barn Lane, Ringwood, BH24 1PT or by online banking using the following details:

Account Name: Ibsley and District Horticultural Society

Sort Code: 30-96-26

Account number: 42436068

Please put your surname in the reference box

In line with the new Covid guidance which come into effect on the 27th, masks no longer have to be worn although please feel free to do so, should you wish.

Please reply to this if you are willing to help with the refreshments for this meeting

Things to Plan For:

  • If you have spare unopened or partly used seed packets which you don’t plan to use, save them and bring them along to the Seed Swap at the meeting on 31st March
  • Dont forget to save any plants for splitting or think about sowing additional seeds ready for the Plant Sale on the 7th May

Our First Garden Visit for 2022

On Thursday 21st April we will be meeting at Spinners in Lymington at 2pm. The visit will cost £7pp and includes refreshments.

In the next newsletter, we will attach the booking form as we need to know numbers and sort out lifts if required.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday
